Workshops

We offer several workshops to introduce attendees to mindfulness in a unique and engaging manner. Reach out to us at pete@theawareness.org or 978-855-8160 if you’d like to book a workshop or discuss variations to any of our offerings.

INTRO TO MINDFULNESS

In this workshop we define mindfulness and meditation and explain the differences and the unique relationship between these practices. We’ll also participate in a guided meditation and practice mindful communication. Offered by Pete Cormier.

MINDFUL JOURNALING & SKETCHING

In this workshop we begin with a mindfulness meditation to ground us in the present moment, and then we use prompts to write and/or sketch about what comes up for each participant. We work hard to create a safe space for deep reflection and provide the opportunity for open sharing, which is always voluntary. Offered by Pete Cormier.

LETS CONNECT

This workshop based on the authentic relating model features light-hearted and meaningful conversations, partner games and moments of reflection to engage and deepen the connections with each other. Offered by Pete Cormier and Serene Quinn.

MINDFULNESS & MUSIC

This workshop includes breathwork and mindful stretching to ground us in the present moment, followed by a performance of familiar and current songs by Pete Cormier and Serene Quinn with opportunities for reflection and conversation.

The following flyers are from workshops we’ve held in the past that we may introduce in the future based on need, opportunity and funding.

Past Events

Below are images from past events, which show the range of workshops and performance events we offer; each event includes a mindfulness component. We’d be happy to work with you to bring a mindfulness event to your organization or collaborate with you on a future event. Contact us to get more information.

This event includes a brief introduction to mindfulness, some mindful stretching a short meditation, followed by a reflective practice to a series of prompts.

This free hands-on workshop integrated intention setting and jewelry-making. Each attendant went home with a mala bracelet they created. In addition, we raffled two copies of Erin’s book, Why Wait? Create! A Visual Artist’s Guide to Using Mindfulness and Meditation to Enhance Their Creative Journey.

A mindful practice can help us view everyday experiences in a new light. Mindfulness can also help us notice recurring thought patterns. In these classes, we used meditation and prompts to open our awareness, then reflected using journaling or sketching to make sense about what emerged.
